A bit of a personal blog post today. After 36 years it was time for my mum and dad to say goodbye to their home and move on to pastures new. What a wonderful place for me and my brother to grow up in alongside the most unbelievably supportive and loving parents! A few days before the big move I roped mum and dad (Steve and Judy) into an in home couple shoot in the house, our lovely family home and I just know we’ll treasure these images forever.
It’s funny the things that stand out to you when you’re going to say goodbye to a place you’ve loved. I’ve included in this post some of the crazy, amazing patterns from around the house that we will never forget and in doing so I was reminded of Emma Case Photography’s carpetgate. Long story short, Emma shot the top of her bride’s carpeted stairwell as part of bridal prep and despite flack from keyboard warriors getting their knickers in a twist about this ‘new wedding photography style,’ for her client it was a mega-special image which perfectly encapsulated her childhood and she had in fact spent time sitting there on the morning of her wedding. Scroll down and you’ll see my own brown carpet loveliness, and yes it will be framed on the wall in my home!
